Bocce Pinot Grigio from California

2004 Bocce Pinot Grigio

Our 2004 Bocce Pinot Grigio has delicious aromas of freshly baked bread with crisp, inviting acidity. Bright flavors of nectarine and ripe white peach play over a silky texture. This wine's easygoing personality makes it a food-pairing favorite. It's not hard to understand why Pinot Grigio is the fastest-growing and most recognized Italian varietal in the United States.

Vineyards
Pinot Grigio means “gray pinot” in Italian (In France they call it “Pinot Gris”). As you've probably guessed, the name comes from the color of the grapes, which can range from a grayish green color to a light coppery hue. A good Pinot Grigio has excellent balance between its fruit flavors and acidity—both of which occur naturally in wine grapes. We source our grapes from select areas throughout California where warm sun ripens them to full fruit expression and cool nights—or chilly ocean breezes, depending on the area—maintain their natural acidity. It's this daily contrast in temperature that gives our Pinot Grigio the kind of balance that makes it taste so good with so many different kinds of cuisine.

Food Pairing Suggestions
Bocce Pinot Grigio tastes perfect with fresh fruit, creamy or firm cheeses, grilled fish, shellfish and spicy foods. Serve it up in a chilled tumbler!
